All Vietnamese tourists are safe, said the Vietnamese embassy in Thailand, after a series of protests forced the military to take control of the country’s capital. Head of the embassy’s Consular Office, Bui Dinh Cham, has said the Vietnamese embassy contacted travel agents in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket provinces, and other major tourist sites, to get information about Vietnamese tourists amidst the Kingdom’s unrest.
These agencies have assured the country and families that all Vietnamese tourists staying in Thailand to enjoy its traditional New Year festival, are safe and accounted for.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva declared on April 13 that the situation is under control, after a day of skirmishes with the ‘Red Shirt’ protestors, said Bangkok sources.
